Position Title
Truck Driver (Omani Only)
Description
The purpose of this position is to drive Muscat Gases’ heavy vehicles in a safe and efficient manner in order to complete assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
- Health, Safety, and Environment:
Perform all tasks in a safe and methodical manner, using correct PPE at all times, and keep the workplace clean and tidy.
- Driving:
1. Perform all tasks in a safe and methodical manner.
2. Always wear appropriate PPE.
3. Comply with Omani Traffic laws and regulations and those of other countries as applicable.
4. Keep the vehicle clean, tidy, and mechanically serviceable.
5. Carry out daily Vehicle routine checks.
6. Create Journey Plans for approval by the Fleet Supervisor.
7. Carryout inspections of the load being carried to ensure it is secure and complies with MGC regulations.
8. Understand and carry out the MGC procedures to be followed in the case of vehicle breakdowns or accidents.
9. Understand and carry out the MGC procedures related to driving hours and fatigue management.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
1. Ensure the vehicle has undergone planned routine maintenance.
2. Report any vehicle defects or problems to the Fleet Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education Level – Minimum Requirement:
1. High school diploma or a GED equivalent qualification.
2. PDO License and H2S Certificate.
-Certifications:
Driving licenses for the class of vehicles being driven.
- Work Experience:
The overall driving experience of 5+ years.
- Job Specific Skills:
Must be alert, strive for accuracy, and have the ability to exercise independent thinking and judgment, be a self-motivator, and attention to detail.
- Generic Skills:
Integrity, discretion, and loyalty.
